Gavin Grows His Golden Locks for Make-A-Wish

Gavin grows his hair to help kids in need
At age seven, Gavin Stichman decided he wanted to help other children in a unique way. Not only will he be growing out his hair to donate it to kids who have lost their hair because of illness, but he will also be raising money to fulfill wishes for Make-A-Wish kids in the process.
Gavin's Golden Locks logoGavin will be following in the footsteps of one of his favorite football players, A.J. Hawk of the Green Bay Packers, who created a foundation called Hawk’s Locks for Kids that provides wigs to kids who have lost their hair due to medical conditions, cancer treatments and burn injuries using donated locks of hair.   Gavin will donate his hair to Hawk's Locks for Kids after raising enough money to fulfill five wishes for Make-A-Wish children living with life-threatening medical conditions.  Gavin understands the hope, strength and joy these wishes can bring to these children and their families and is eager to give back.

It has been more than two years since Gavin started growing his hair, and despite teasing and mistaken identity, Gavin has continued to stay strong to his commitment to Hawk’s Locks and Make-A-Wish.  He looks forward to the day he is able to provide another child with his golden locks and make other children’s wishes come true.
