Christian could hardly contain his excitement on the morning of his wish day. He had been preparing his list of things to buy for weeks in anticipation for his shopping spree, which he wished for so he could have things to take to the hospital during his treatments and fun equipment to share with his friends.
Christian was so surprised when a limousine service arrived to drive around his family while he shopped. During his shopping spree, he purchased a pool table, a basketball hoop, and new accessories for his Wii. The manager and several employees at Walmart surprised Christian with a gift card and a bag filled with fun items. At Sears, he purchased a watch, a portable DVD system, and some shoes.
After the shopping spree, Make-A-Wish volunteers had one more surprise in store for Christian — a party at Freemo’s Pizza where his friends and family were waiting to greet him. Other guests included two violinists from the local Missoula orchestra and Monte, the University of Montana mascot. Everyone enjoyed the party—they ate, played games, and enjoyed an ice cream cake from Cold Stone Creamery. This was by far the most memorable part of Christian’s wish.
Christian’s mom, referring to her son’s wish, said: “It has given him fun things to look forward to and has brightened his path. It was wonderful seeing our son so full of joy.”
A special thanks to Christian’s volunteers, Niki Hibbert and Trisha Smith.
