Ten-year-old Aaliyah loves to imagine she is a Disney princess. Even though she must endure frequent challenges due to her epilepsy, when she pretends to be a princess, she has the strength to conquer her medical condition. When Make-A-Wish® gave her the opportunity to meet her heroines, she was ecstatic. Aaliyah finally received her greatest desire, to visit the Walt Disney World® Resort with her family.
Once in Orlando, Aaliyah arrived at her very own castle, Give Kids the World Village. This special place for kids like Aaliyah truly showed her the royal treatment. She loved the unlimited ice cream bar where she could indulge in her beloved sweets and the large swimming pool. She became so comfortable she even called The Village her “home” for the week.
Aaliyah’s favorite experience of all was her princess makeover at the Bippity Boppity Boutique. When her transformation was complete, she was ready to meet her favorite Disney princesses. Standing beside her new royal friends, Aaliyah felt like a princess herself in a Cinderella gown and tiara. However, the one accessory she wanted to show off the most was her dazzling smile.
While on her trip, Aaliyah forgot about her medical stress and was able to enjoy a wonderful week with her family. Her magical dream had finally come true. Aaliyah learned through her wish experience that no princess is perfect, but every princess perseveres despite their challenges.
